Narrative+Memory

Taking an essay from Diane Charleson as a starting point for the assumption that the relasionship between installation and art activated by viewer participation provides the ideal cataclyst for memory and remembering I collected several fragments of information from the public space in form of video, photography and sound wich were rearanged in an attempt to reconfigure and transport the caracteristic elements to the installation space.

This proposal results in the development of an installation, which originates from a theoretical work on construction of nonlinear narrative from collective references. Several narrative fragments of the Monument in the public space of the Boavista roundabout are exposed in a context that aims to be a reconstruction of space and memory.

“How is our experience of a spatial form affected when the form is filled in with dynamic and rich multimedia information?”
